Winnipeg, Manitoba — January 11, 2017 — The Boyd Group has announced another acquisition, this time in Monroe, North Carolina. Monroe is located about 40 kilometres southeast of Charlotte, North Carolina’s largest city.
The location previously operated as Griffin Motors Collision Center and shares a location with an automobile dealership. This marks the first acquisition by the Boyd Group since Tim O’Day was appointed as President and COO of the Boyd Group, as reported by Collision Repair magazine.
“We are pleased to add this location which will help us serve customers and our insurance partners in the southeast region of metropolitan Charlotte and complements our locations in the central, north and west areas of the city,” said O’Day. “Additionally, this repair centre being co-located with a car dealership gives us a prime opportunity to introduce dealership customers to our high level of quality and service.”
The Boyd Group is headquartered in Winnipeg and has a large presence in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The company also operates Queensway Auto Body in Kitchener, Ontario. There are 49 autobody facilities in the company’s Canadian chain, including four centres in BC acquired in 2016.
The company’s US arm is significantly larger, consisting of 365 locations including Gerber Glass facilities.
