Winnipeg, Manitoba — July 12, 2016 — The Boyd Group has announced another acquisition, this time of Blue Ribbon Autobody in Portland, Oregon. The newly-acquired facility will operate under the Gerber Collision trade name.
“In October 2015 we acquired our first location in Oregon and with this centre we now have seven, all strategically located to serve the Portland area,” said Tim O’Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group’s US operations in an official statement. “Building this regional presence increases our capacity so we can both better assist our insurance partners and reach out to new customers.”
The Boyd Group has been on an expansion drive over the last few months that shows little to no signs of slowing down. The company acquired four locations in June, adding facilities in Washington, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma.
Three acquisitions were made in May, including the acquisition of a licensed partner in BC. The company acquired two facilities in April, one in Indiana and one in Ohio.
The Boyd Group also made two acquisitions in March. The first was the addition of a facility in Punta Gorda, Florida. Near the end of the month, the company announced it had acquired the J&M Body Shops chain, consisting of five facilities in Oregon. Boyd also picked up a facility in Georgia in February, and two facilities in BC and one in Indiana in January.
