Illinois, United States — Bosch says its ADS X series scan tool owners now have access to new software features, faster scan times, and expanded vehicle coverage through the new 6.0 software update. New software features include a Topology View and battery voltage indicator for improved diagnostic efficiency.
“Our goal for each ADS X scan tool update is to make diagnostic scans more efficient and increase vehicle coverage, allowing shop owners to expand their services,” said Danijela Haskin, senior product manager at Bosch Diagnostics. “The ADS X 6.0 update leveraged insights from repair shop owners and technicians to ensure these updates make their work easier. Because of this user feedback, the 6.0 update will streamline diagnostic scans through increased speed and key software additions.”
The latest ADS X software version adds:
- Faster Scan Times: The new update improves scanning speed by an average of 57% across multiple popular Asian and European brands, including Honda, Volvo, Land Rover and more.
- Topology View: Technicians now have an additional view of Rapid-Scan results with Topology View. Topology View offers a visual representation of vehicle controllers organized along vehicle’s bus lines, including bus name and pin. This view helps to more-easily identify which ECUs or areas of the vehicle network are not communicating, and directly links to 100% OE-color wiring diagrams for a more in-depth view of those specific network layouts. The new view can be enabled when a user scans all modules, while the traditional list view is still available via a toggle.
- Battery Voltage Indicator: This addition automatically displays the vehicle’s battery voltage in the user interface, without the technician to manually check. The indicator helps technicians identify if they need to address a low voltage issue and avoid improper or incomplete scans.
- More 2024 model year coverage and new ADAS calibrations: The update includes more 2018-2024 vehicle coverage supporting DTC, data, and Bi-directional functions. The 6.0 release also expands ADAS calibration coverage to include popular 2018-2024 model year vehicles from Domestic, Asian and European OEMs.
- Over 2,000 new special tests and new system applications are also included in this update.
Bosch ADS X users with an active subscription can install the update after automatically receiving the download.
