Ottawa, Ontario — Myers CARSTAR Collision is looking to cover all reaches of its Ottawa market by opening the first brand new collision repair facility the city has seen in 20 years.
The new facility is currently under construction in Barrhaven, an Ottawa neighbourhood located about 20 km south from the downtown core, marking the collision group’s third location within the city. Shawn Jamieson, the vice president of Myers CARSTAR Collision, said this new centre will meet growing demand in the area.
“Anyone who’s lived in Barrhaven—and it’s a big part of Ottawa—they’ve been travelling to the west end or centre part of the city to fill any kind of collision repair needs,” said Jamieson. “I think all of the insurance companies are going to be very anxious to get in, see the facility and see what we do because they’ve got such a large group of their clients that need to travel a distance to reach a collision repair facility.”
Flatline will be supplying the Barrhaven location with the majority of its equipment, according to Jamieson. Blowtherm as well is installing two double downdraft prep bays out of the seven total at the facility along with two paint booths—one high booth for taller vehicles, and a regular-sized one for everyday use.
“We just can’t get in and get working fast enough,” said Jamieson.
The Myers CARSTAR Barrhaven location is set to open to the public on Dec. 2.
