Toronto, Ontario — November 28, 2014 — Women are underrepresented in the automotive trades, but an upcoming event might help to change that state of affairs.

AYCE, a division of Tropicana Community Services, has announced it will hold the Autobody Job Fair for Women on December 17, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event takes place at 1385 Huntingwood Drive in Scarborough, Ontario.

In addition to employers’ booths, the event will feature a number of guest speakers. Leanne Jefferies of AIA Canada will speak on Women in the Auto Body Trade. Two students from AYCE’s current program, Nevida Ramlochan and Yi Ru Li, will speak on their experiences working in the collision repair field. Mike Davey, Editor of Collision Repair magazine, will speak on resources and mentorship.

The Autobody Job Fair is for women aged 18 to 30, who possess a valid driver’s license, and have a passion to get started in the collision repair industry. All participants in the Job Fair must also be registered with AYCE Employment Services.
