Ajax, Ontario — October 13, 2014 – Axalta Coating Systems hosted members of Ajax and surrounding communities on Sept. 26 as part of Doors Open in Ajax.
Over 340 visitors took part in the event, comprised of community neighbours, families, and friends. Attendees were briefed on the paint manufacturing process and offered a tour of the plant. One notable high point for many was a virtual painting challenge, with guests participating in a painting simulator. The group also learned about Axalta’s involvement in defining colourtrends over the last 60 years, as demonstrated by Axalta’s 60th Anniversary Colour Popularity Report.
Event goers were also welcome to take photos with the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS driven by four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon.
Doors Open Ajax is one of 49 open house events held across the province. Each May through October, participating communities open the doors of hundreds venues–including historical buildings, places of worship, museums, private homes, industrial areas, green buildings, and heritage gardens–to grant attendees access to a number of rarely visited sites.
The liquid and powder coating manufacturer’s facility is among Ajax’s earliest established businesses. Axalta says they were pleased to take part in Doors Open this year.
