Toronto, Ontario — SEMA has announced the winners of this year’s Best New Product awards, with Canadian company adasThink claiming the title for Best New Collision Repair and Refinish product.
Headed by president and founder Nick Dominato, adasThink is a software tool for bodyshops that can provide ADAS calibrations by taking a shop’s estimate and telling them what is equipped on the vehicle, and therefore, what needs to be calibrated, says the company.
The software uses text recognition and its deep database of OEM build data and repair procedures to identify advanced driver assistance systems present on a vehicle and any calibrations that are required according to the manufacturer. adasThink says the software can also provide its customers with OEM documentation supporting the calibration requirements and procedures.
“We’re incredibly excited that SEMA has recognized adasThink as a revolutionary new product that is on the road to changing the collision repair industry,” Dominato told Collision Repair. “adasThink empowers collision repairers to identify and repair the most advanced sensors that are equipped on a vehicle–a solution that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the market. Credit goes to my co-founder David Sherret, who provided the technical expertise and direction to make this product what it is.”
SEMA’s runners up for Best New Collision Repair and Refinish products are CollisionRepairTools.com’s FAN 220 MIG / MAG / Brazing welder and P&S Detail Products’ Iron Buster Wheel Decon.
The annual awards, which are typically presented at the SEMA Show, recognize outstanding achievements in the development of products for the automotive aftermarket. Products are judged in 16 award categories, with one winner and two runners-up in each category.
