Toronto, Ontario — Sept. 17, 2019 — The 14th Assured charity golf tournament, held on Thursday, September 5th, saw more than 144 golfers arrived just outside Toronto at the Glen Abby Golf Course in Oakville, ON.
Industry partners and colleagues alike came out for the golf tournament throughout the day before heading into the club for dinner, which raised more than $15,000 to support the Pinball Clemons Foundation.
“We like to keep the atmosphere very casual and fun for everyone in attendance,” said Des Browne, the director of insurance and client relations at Assured. “You feel like you’re out on a Saturday afternoon with friends rather than attending a work-related golf tournament.”
Pinball Clemons made an appearance to speak before dinner to share uplifting stories of hope and empathy for the crowd. He captivated the room with charisma and charm. Assured has had a long-standing relationship with the Pinball Clemons organization, which invests in local and international educational charities.
With so many in attendance to support a worthy cause, the event was a success — planned only to be outdone by next year’s.
