Toronto, Ontario — April 18, 2018 — On Saturday, Assured Automotive hosted its tenth annual employee appreciation event at the Toronto Congress Centre.
With 976 people in attendance, the guests listened as Assured president Tony Canade and CEO Des D’Silva thanked them for their efforts throughout the year. The two executives also singled out a few people who received special awards, including 29 members who were honoured for having worked with Assured for more than a decade. Beyond the awards ceremony, guests at the semi-formal affair listened to the George Saint Kitts band covering top 40 hits. The event ran from 6pm until midnight.
Two of the guests were given the special “Employee of the Year” award, Cara Strong of Meyers Volkswagen in Ottawa, and John ‘Junior’ Mansutto, a mechanic at Meadowvale Auto Repair.
Strong, who has been working at Meyers Volkswagen for three years, was commended for her efforts to go above-and-beyond in her dealings with clients, showing initiative to resolve problems as quickly as possible. In fact, during her time with Assured, a number of direct calls from satisfied customers had been made to the head office, from customers eager to thank the company for her services.
Mansutto was commended for his willingness to put in extra hours, take on additional projects and commitment in his craft. To quote Canadae, “Mansutto has been the Doug Gilmour of his team,” making reference to the key man of the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1990s.
