Toronto, Ontario — December 14, 2018 — In the weeks since its 75th Annual Convention and Exposition, the ARA has taken steps to establish an International Committee to promote engagement and understanding of the professional automotive recycling industry around the world.
Automotive recyclers from 14 countries attended the most recent Annual Convention in November, and the new Committee is just the latest step the ARA leadership has taken this year to grow its international membership.
The ARA’s new International Committee will be comprised of professional automotive recyclers from around the globe, representing many of the ARA’s international affiliate chapters.
Chaired by Andy Latham of Salvage Wire in the United Kingdom, the Committee will focus on supporting learning opportunities, dialogue and collaborative projects in order to share industry best practices and innovative approaches to automotive recycling operations and organizations.
The Committee has been tasked by ARA leadership with identifying and advising the ARA on how to address the issues relevant to professional automotive recyclers around the globe, as well as with researching and reporting on global matters.
The group will provide a forum for all automotive recyclers, especially those without a local and/or national trade association, and plans to meet in person as well as via teleconference.
