Calgary, Alberta — Registration is now open for the 2024 National Apprenticeship Conference, to be held June 2 to the 4th at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta.
The conference—which has a theme of “Mastering the Journey”—is expected to feature more than 500 delegates over the course of the three days from across the country.
The first day of the conference will open with a reception and banquet as well as the National Apprenticeship Awards.
The second day will feature concurrent breakout sessions and will begin with a welcome breakfast as well as opening remarks from Sébastien Sasseville. The main panel discussion for the day will focus on the new National Standard of Canadian Apprenticeships as well as discussions on recruiting and retaining a workforce and how to advance women in the trades.
Other topics to be discussed include how to modernize apprenticeship education and tackle gaps in funding and hiring workers.
On both days two and three, there will also be a tour of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
The final day of the conference will begin with a “Giving Back Breakfast” followed by more concurrent sessions with a focus on achieving diversity and equity for apprentices with special needs. The event will then end with closing remarks and award winners.
