Ottawa, Ontario — The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) has issued a call for nominations and applications to its Board of Directors.
Each year, at least three directors complete their terms on the AIA Canada Board; the Nominations Committee then proposes a range of candidates to be considered to replace them. Subsequently, during the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), all members present vote to elect the candidates of their choice.
AIA Canada says it seeks directors who, at all times, act in the interests of the entire Association, willingly share their knowledge and expertise, and are willing and able to commit time and effort to the Association.
“Any skill that can support AIA’s goals and strategic direction is considered an asset. The Association also takes into account any previous experience acquired on a voluntary basis or as a member of a board of directors, preferably within AIA Canada. Serving on the AIA Canada Board of Directors is a huge responsibility and requires each Director to attend three to four Board meetings each year as well as a few conference calls,” wrote the organization.
Individuals can recommend a candidate or submit a request for nomination to the AIA Canada Board of Directors by completing the online form on the group’s website by February 15, 2022.
