Regina, Saskatchewan — Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) has reported that as of Tuesday afternoon, the insurer has handled 2,527 autoclaims as a result of a storm system that moved across the province over the weekend.
Of the claims currently filed, SGI has further reported that most were due to hail damage.
SaskToday further noted that approximately 66 percent of claims were from Estevan, Saskatchewan area, but claims are also being reported from communities across the province.
Tyler McMurchy,manager of media relations for SGI originally told SaskToday that the numbers “are very much a point-in-time snapshot and we expect them to grow; claims are still coming in. Our claims staff are working hard to deal with these claims as they come in, and we certainly appreciate peoples’ patience. This is an ‘all hands on deck’ situation for our claims teams.”
