Toronto, Ontario — The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awards 2021 Nissan Murano the Top Safety Pick+ designation.
Nissan Murano is the fourth Nissan model to be awarded IIHS’s Top Safety Pick+ after Nissan Rogue, Maxima and Altima.
All four models feature Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard equipment.
The 2021 Nissan Murano earned “superior” ratings for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.
For a vehicle to qualify as a Top Safety Pick+, a vehicle must have good ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests.
The vehicle also must have a front crash prevention system that earns “advanced” or “superior” ratings in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations on top of featuring “good” or “acceptable” headlights across all trim levels.
