Toronto, Ontario — July 19, 2019 — The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada has announced that Michael Paul will serve as the organization’s new executive director of Eastern Canada. Paul succeeds Roger Goudreau, who has served in the role for the past three years.
“Having industry veterans like Michael on our leadership team is a great asset for our Association and its members,” said AIA Canada president Jean-François Champagne.“His years of experience and network of contacts means he can hit the ground running as he takes on this important role.”
“I am thrilled to be joining the AIA Canada team and look forward to working with the Quebec and Atlantic division volunteers as well as all the association members and stakeholders,” said Paul. “My goal is to support all members and to ensure that the association’s objectives and priorities are met.”
An industry veteran, Michael has held senior management positions with Valvoline Canada since 1996, and at the time of his retirement in 2018, he was national DIFM sales manager. Before joining Valvoline, he was general manager of the industrial maintenance firm of GSF Canada, and held a number of management positions with Petro Canada.
Michael has been an active member of the automotive aftermarket community, having served as vice president, president and past president of AIA Canada’s Quebec Division from 1998 to 2004. He was a founding member of Quebec’s used oil and filter program, la Société de gestion des huiles usagées (SOGHU), and served on their board of directors from 2004 to 2019.
