Toronto, Ontario — The late DMX once put forth the question, “Where the hood at?” If you were ever curious “When the hood at?” it’s May 6—the day registrations for this year’s Hood Master competition officially open.
As hosts of one of North America’s hottest automotive painting competitions, FinishMaster is eager to open up 70 spots to some of the most talented automotive artists our industry has to offer. Registration for Hood Master 2022 officially opens at noon EST on May 6.
In the Hood Master competition, participating painters are provided with a mini car hood upon which they can unleash their artistic expression across a number of categories.
Last year, Stratford, Ont.’s Josh Dobson came away with second prize in the pinstriping category for his “Frozen” pinstriped mini hood.
The finalists of this year’s event are set to be announced on Oct. 7 at a live event at The Alexander in downtown Indianapolis, IN.
The competitors are vying for a portion of $20,000 in prize money, with proceeds from drink and raffle tickets at the event typically going toward an educational grant through CREF (Collision Repair Education Foundation).
