Toronto, Ontario — A new study from Anyline, which aims to outline artificial intelligence-powered mobile data capture and insights, indicates that 60 percent of automotive technicians have expressed interest in incorporating data-driven tools into their workflow.
The survey, which evaluated the comfort of automotive technicians in using technology within the industry, further indicated that 70 percent of respondents say at least half of their daily tasks depend on some level of technology.
Moreover, 68 percent of automotive technicians noted that they feel comfortable using advanced digital diagnostic tools; and 87 percent said that digital data and analytics build customer trust and improve satisfaction.
When looking at the opposite end of the spectrum, over half of techs today, 57 percent, still manually log information into point-of-sale systems and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, and almost three-fourths of those surveyed, or 72 percent, say manual data entry is time consuming for automotive service technicians.
Chris Garcia, head of the United States automotive division at Anyline commented that “our survey confirms a growing enthusiasm among technicians for technology’s role in shaping the future of automotive service. Digitized data empower techs to service more vehicles every day, reducing customer wait times and improving the overall service experience.”
