Port Coquitlam, British Columbia — Lordco Auto Parts first made its way into Alberta in 2019 and has quickly ingratiated itself with its new neighbours, announcing Wednesday that the company has signed on as a partner of the Edmonton Elks.
The Western Canada parts suppliers said this team-up with the CFL football squad is a significant milestone for a company angling to occupy a larger presence in Canadian sports.
“Since our expansion into Alberta in 2019, we’ve worked hard to earn the trust of our customers and are committed to being a contributor to the community,” said Lordco’s v-p of marketing, Sarah Durant.
“With two stores in the city already, partnering with the Edmonton Elks was just another step in furthering this commitment and supporting a team that brings so much to its fan base, on and off the field.”
President and CEO of the Elks organization, Victor Cui, echoed Durant’s enthusiasm and expanded further to her point of community commitment.
“As a community-owned team, our values align with Lordco’s commitment to giving back, and we can’t wait to help showcase and grow Lordco’s brand as they strengthen their presence in the Alberta market,” he said.
The Elks kicked off their regular season on June 11 with a 17-13 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Maybe Lordco’s support will make the difference this Saturday as the team heads to Vancouver to face off against the BC Lions.
