Edmonton, Alberta — Oct. 7, 2019 — Herbers Autobody of Edmonton, Alberta has opened a new location in Grande Prairie. On Oct. 1, Herbers’ signs went up on the facility, marking the end of a four-month operation and the beginning of a new scope for the business.
Fred Mueller, the president of Herbers Autobody, reflected back on the expansion process to when it was in its infancy.
“It’s been one of our goals for the past four or five years to look for expansion opportunities,” Mueller said. “We’ve scoped out different markets over the years and felt (Grande Prairie) would be a great market for us, but it was both the market and opportunity timings that aligned and allowed us to move forward with this.”
The new location means the MSO will no longer be solely Edmonton-based. As Mueller explained: “Now, we’re more Alberta-based and more regional because of it. That’s ultimately our goal–to expand across Alberta.”
Mueller also mentioned that Herbers would be looking at other opportunities on the side, whether it is to expand up north, or to more central Alberta.
Concluded Mueller, ”we would like to be in the Red Deer area, we would like to be in the Calgary area, it’s all just predicated on opportunities to look forward to.”
