Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey — You may have heard of it raining cats and dogs, but for one couple from Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, it was raining fish when the windshield of their Tesla was shattered in one cod-filled caper.
According to ABC7 News, Cynthia and Jeff Levine reportedly had their Tesla’s windshield smashed when a fish fell from the sky and landed on the vehicle.
The vehicle was parked in the couple’s driveway at the time of the fishy situation. The pair told ABC7 News that they heard a crash outside of their home, located about two kilometres away from the nearest body of water.
When the couple went to investigate, they found their Tesla’s windshield broken and covered in a mess “of fish and scales and blood.”
The incident was caught on the car’s security footage, which shows a fish suddenly falling out of the sky and smacking into the vehicle.
While the Levines initially thought that the incident was a horrible prank, the perpetrator instead turned out to be more feathered than fiendish.
The culprit: an eagle who had failed to keep a hold on their lunch.
The Levines are now waiting to get their Tesla back from being repaired and so, officially putting this fishy situation under wraps—or in this case, slaps.
