Carrossier ProColor’s annual conference highlights accreditation and training

Sylvain Dufault, General Manager, Carrossier ProColor, presenting the industry market overview

La Malbaie, Québec — June 8, 2017 — The Carrossier ProColor Network, a member of CSN COLLISION CENTRES, drew a record attendance to its Annual Conference,  during which a new record of $75,000 in donations was raised for the Children’s Wish Foundation.

The event, which welcomed more than 540 people, highlighted the theme ‘The Wind in our Sails’. By drawing a parallel between sailing and business management, this year’s conference underlined the importance of maintaining one’s vessel (company) in optimal condition by keeping up with changing winds (industry trends) and being surrounded by a competent and loyal crew (staff).

“We have the wind in our sails, although we must never forget that winds can change strength or direction at any time,” said Sylvain Dufault, General Manager of Carrossier ProColor, before the delegates. “We have done a lot of work over the past few years to remain a leader in the collision repair industry. In order to maintain this position against winds and tides, we must stay on course and adjust our sails accordingly,” he added.

The conference, hosted by Manuel Hurtubise, began Thursday evening with an exhibition period where collision centres could exchange with vendor partners. The evening ended with a bonfire by the St. Lawrence River to the rhythm of melodies performed by Serge Lachapelle.

Friday’s events consisted of a series of presentations. Guest speakers included Brigitte Pesant, Director of Collision Programs, AIA, who presented the Canadian Collision Industry Accreditation Program, and Caroline Lacasse, Training Coordinator at CSMO-Auto and Chair of the I-CAR Quebec Committee, who demonstrated the importance of the employee experience as well as the manager’s role. The day concluded with a recognition ceremony of collision centres that celebrated their 5, 10 and 15 year anniversary as a member of the Carrossier ProColor network.

A banquet was held on Friday evening to end the conference in style, during which the Insurer’s Choice Awards Ceremony was held to honour the workshops that distinguished themselves the most during the last year. This was followed with the traditional fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation, where some 440 collision centres, insurance partners and vendors took part in a heartfelt effort to help sick children reach their most cherished dreams.

“Every year, we wonder if it will be possible to exceed the record of donations collected from the year before,” said Sylvain Dufault. “But until now, we have always managed to shatter it thanks to the generosity of our valued contributors. Seven children will have the opportunity to see their dreams come true this year,” he concluded.
