Toronto, Ontario — A pair of parts problems are plaguing Stellantis this week, forcing the legacy OEM to issue recalls on more than 60,000 Jeep and Ram vehicles in North America.
News came to light on Thursday that 4,576 Canadian-market 2022 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 Cab Chassis pickups are affected by a glitch in the radio’s software that prevents the backup camera from displaying when in reverse, and instead displaying an error message.
Additionally, 55,711 vehicles from across Stellantis’ multi-brand lineup are expected to be affected by a defect in high-pressure fuel pumps which could lead to an accumulation of debris that could restrict fuel flow and cause a vehicle to stall.
Vehicles equipped with Stellantis’ 3.0-litre EcoDiesel engine, like Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from model years 2014 through 2020 and Ram 1500 trucks from model years 2014 through 2019, are expected to be affected.
No accidents or injuries have been linked to either defect as of yet, though Stellantis said they would begin notifying drivers of the recalls by July 29.
