Cary, North Carolina — April 20, 2016 — LORD Corporation has launched a new I-CAR Alliance Course focused on repair procedures for structural and mechanical bonding. LORD Corporation manufactures Fusor brand adhesives.

Douglas Craig is the Technical Application Engineer & Collision Industry Liaison for LORD Corporation. Craig confirms what most in the industry already know: major changes during the last few years in vehicle construction methodology, to include metals, adhesives and mechanical fasteners, have resulted in radical changes related to how repairs must be made.

“Collision repair professionals need to be up-to-date on the repair solutions and processes available to them to make the right repair,” he says. “This new Fusor 008 Structural and Mechanical Bonding training course brings the most current information on adhesives and mechanical bonding repair solutions to everyone involved in the repair process. Further, the course is available right in the shop, enabling relevant training in a format that technician can quickly absorb, while earning I-CAR Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual designations.”

Fusor 008 Structural and Mechanical Bonding was developed in response to changing industry trends and repair procedures. Key objectives of the hands-on training course include understanding the differences between structural and crash durable adhesives, recognition of the types of mechanical fastening, how to safely use adhesives, as well as an overview of adhesive options and applications.

According to a statement from LORD Corporation, training can be customized to meet any schedule as classes are offered during the day or after hours. Upon completion of the course and exam, a certificate will be issued to the attendee which will allow them to apply for I-CAR alliance credits. Courses also include the latest information on product-specific OEM recommendations and procedures, where applicable.
