Ottawa, Ontario — Ford is reportedly planning to construct a $95 million, 500,000 sq. ft. parts center in the Ottawa, Ontario area, Automotive News Canada reported last weekend.
The building is expected to start operations in 2023 alongside Highway 417 in Casselman, Ont.—approximately 40 minutes driving distance to Ottawa. It will complement another western Ontario deport in Paris, Ont., near Brantford, according to union sources.
The two new parts centres will replace the current Bramalea Parts Distribution Centre located in Brampton, Ont.
Ford has made no public announcement of the new projects. However, according to Unifor Local 584, which represents approximately 200 employees at the Bramalea Parts Distribution Centre near Toronto, both locations have been confirmed.
