Ajax, Ontario — June 30, 2014 — You can’t sell what you don’t know. A recent event coordinated through CMAX, Axalta and Norton Saint-Gobain was held to make sure CMAX reps know new products thoroughly. It was also an opportunity to get a sneak peek at some of the latest offerings.
The event took place at the Axalta Training Centre at 408 Fairall St. in Ajax, Ont. CMAX representatives from across Ontario attended the evening session. On the slate were additions to Norton’s adhesive line, the company’s Mothers Polishing System and the Dynabrade vacuum unit.
The star of the evening, though, was likely the new Norton Multi-Air Cyclonic sanding system. It’s a full line of blended ceramic discs, ranging all the way from 80 to 1000 grit. Phil Zylstra of Norton explains why the use of ceramic is important.
“The use of blended ceramics allows the Cyclonic discs to last longer than any other product on the market,†says Zylstra. “The ceramic gives is a much longer life, but there’s more to these discs than the material. Usually, the holes in sanding discs are machine punched. This means that they may not be completely flat to the surface of the disc, and dust can collect in those areas. The holes in the new Cyclonic discs are laser-cut, which allows the holes and the disc to lie completely flat, improving performance.â€
