Wetaskiwin, Alberta — April 9, 2014 — Registration for the 2014 Alberta Automotive Recycling and Disassemblers Association (AARDA) AGM and Conference is now open.
The 2014 AARDA AGM will take place on Thursday, May 1 and Friday, Â May 2, at the Reynolds Alberta museum in Wetaskiwin, Alb., with registration fees set at $75. The fee covers delegates and their accompanying families, admission into the museum, and Friday’s lunch and gala.
The museum features many old and historic vehicles, providing the ideal backdrop for attending recyclers with the AGM taking place right on site. In addition to old vehicles, attendees and their families can take in an array of vehicular treasures, including antique farm machinery and a hangar full of restored aircraft. Special tours of the Museum’s Restoration Shop are also available, with museum staff readily available to host tours free-of-charge for delegates and their families following lunch on May 2. The tour consists of articulating what techniques were used fix all of the facility’s old vehicles to bring them back to their original condition.
The museum’s current special attraction, the “Fabulous Fifties will also be on display, while comedy music troupe Nino & Nina will provide the entertainment when AGM delegates retire to the Best Western Wayside Inn for the evening reception and gala dinner. Nino & Nina will be playing on May 2, 2014 at 9 p.m., and will be performing songs to match the theme of the Fabulous Fifties display.
For delegates attending, two accomodation options are available. To book a room at the Best Western Wayside Inn, located at 4103 56th St., you may call directly 1-877-358-6177 to arrange accomodations for $119 (plus tax) with a choice between a king sized bed or a single queen and two double beds for $115. Full breakfast can additionally be added for an extra $15, covering two people. Delegates can also book a room at the Super 8 Hotel, located at 3820 5th St. E. two blocks away from Best Western. Featuring a pool and waterslide, rooms can be booked for $119 (plus tax) with breakfast included. Newly renovated rooms are available.Â
