California, United States — Rivian, the electric vehicle (EV) automaker, is cooking up a storm with a surprising new addition to their R1T electric pickup.
Rivian now offers a Camp Kitchen that pulls out from the side of the vehicle and includes a two-burner induction cooktop, a collapsible sink with a faucet and drawers to put cutlery. It slides out from a ‘gear tunnel’ that is underneath the back seats. This new addition is perfect for anyone that enjoys camping and wants to be able to have more options when it comes to cooking other than a fire.
The 1400-watt induction stovetop is powered by the R1T’s battery, and it costs an additional $5,000 on top of the already pricey vehicle that sits at $70,000.
With these new add-ons to vehicles, collision repair technicians might have to learn how to fix kitchen appliances in the future.
