Vancouver, British Columbia — November 27, 2013 — Fix Auto BC is set to gift a deserving family with a refurbished vehicle for the holidays through the recent launch of its Nominate a Family holiday campaign, the latest initiative in the company’s ongoing community work.
Up until November 25, the public is encouraged to nominate a family in need through the Fix Auto Canada Facebook page at facebook.com/fixautocanada. The ten families with the most nominations will move to the final round where a winner will be chosen at random. The winning family will receive a refurbished 2009 Nissan Versa FE Plus, provided by Fix Auto Pitt Meadows and Fix Auto Burnaby.
“Fix Auto is excited for this opportunity to give back to the community; we have seen a tremendous amount of support and growth over the last year and want to show our appreciation.†said Fix Auto BC spokesperson Tom Maple. “any of our shops have previously conducted refurbished vehicle giveaways in their own communities and we take pride in and are inspired by their success.â€
In addition to community initiatives such as Nominate a Family, Fix Auto BC is also a proud sponsor of MADD Canada and the MADD Canada Bursary Program. MADD Canada’s Bursary Program assists Canadian students who have had an immediate family member killed in an impaired-driving related crash and who are pursuing any full-time education program approved by a provincial Minister of Education. Bursaries of up to $2,000 are awarded to qualifying students across Canada. Fix Auto Canada contributes to the Bursary Endowment, which was set up through the donations of caring individuals who recognized the economic hardships families often face after an impaired driving tragedy.
“We enjoy giving back to the communities we live and work in,†says Maple, “Through the public’s participation in Nominate a Family, we hope we can extend our efforts across BC and continue our commitment to giving back to those in need.â€
