Dallas, Texas — November 5, 2013 — Valspar Refinish has partnered with Gas Monkey Garage to provide a series of videos detailing tips for auto painters. Located in Dallas, Tex., Gas Monkey Garage focuses on restoring classic cars to their former glory. The shop is the subject of the Discovery Channel program “Fast N’ Loud,” where the “monkeys” search Texas and nearby states for forgotten classic vehicles to buy and restore.
KC Mathieu is the shop’s painter and the main focus of the new videos.
“No painter’s just a painter,” says Mathieu. “You really need to know bodywork also, because you don’t know if you’re doing a good paint job if you don’t know what you’re looking at is good as far as the bodywork goes.”
The first video in the series focuses on basic application tips, with later videos expanding into topics such as prepping plastic for paint, prepping new or damaged panels, spraying matte clears and more.
