St. Louis, Missouri — October 18, 2013 — Enterprise Rent-A-Car is using humour to promote the benefits of rental reimbursement, an auto insurance add-on that covers the cost of using a rental car while a vehicle is in the shop.
Utilizing their Automated Rental Management System (ARMS) data, Enterprise says vehicles are in the shop for an average of 13 days after an accident, leading vehicle owners to have to borrow family cars, hitch rides or pay out-of-pocket rental fees of up to $400.
“Many people aren’t sure if they’re covered for a replacement rental while their vehicle is in the shop, and many don’t find out until it’s too late,†says Mary Mahoney, vice president at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. “One year of rental reimbursement coverage can cost less than a one-day car rental. With that in mind, the video and website are fun, lighthearted ways to generate awareness and educate drivers.â€
Enterprise’s short YouTube video has already gained nearly one million views in just one week. The video takes a humorous approach to the vexing challenges drivers could face – like driving a teenager’s car for nearly two weeks – if they are without sufficient auto insurance coverage.
“Customers who have rental reimbursement coverage also tend to be more satisfied with their insurance companies, making them less likely to shop for a new provider,†Mahoney says. “It’s a winning scenario for both customers and their agents.â€
