Richmond Hill, Ontario — In an attempt to cover all of their bases when it comes to cleaning up carbon emissions, Volvo Cars Canada announced on Tuesday that it’s corporate office will be entirely powered by “bullfrogpower”, going forward.
You read that correctly. The Swedish automaker announced that they have joined forces with Bullfrog Power Inc, Canada’s leading green energy provider, to help power the company’s corporate office with cleanly-produced electricity.
“We are excited to welcome Volvo Car Canada to the “bullfrogpowered” community,” said Sean Drygas, v-p of sales, marketing, strategy and sustainability for Spark Power, Bullfrog’s parent company.
“By drawing on green electricity, Volvo is helping to reduce our dependence on polluting forms of energy and transition Canada to renewable energy sources.”
Bullfrog’s green energy comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities.
“At Volvo, sustainability is just as important as safety,” said Matt Girgis, managing director of Volvo Car Canada.
“Choosing to support our head office with 100 percent renewable energy is a simple and effective way for us to demonstrate our commitment to a clean energy future.”
