Rainsville, Alabama — Polyvance is announcing the immediate availability of its new Kenworth T880 hood repair kit.
The Kenworth T880 hood is notorious for breaking where the hood support struts mount. The hood is made from a thermoset material called Metton, which is not weldable. Polyvance’s KEN T880 repair kit is much less expensive than a replacement hood and will also create a repair that is stronger than the original.
The KEN T880 repair kit includes two custom-cast aluminum cups that fit over the bulges in the hood where the struts mount. The cups are bonded to the hood over a very large area using Polyvance’s 2510 PlasticFix two-component methacrylate adhesive, proven to have a stronger bond to Metton than epoxy or urethane adhesives. The KEN T880 kit includes two kits of the 2510 PlasticFix adhesive, one for each cup.
The Kenworth T880 repair kit is 100 percent designed and built in the USA by Polyvance, a specialist in plastic repair and refinishing products since 1981. The new T880 kit is the largest addition to Polyvances growing line of Kenworth good repair kits which also includes the T800 and two models of the W900 (square and round pockets).
