Stockholm, Sweden — When it comes to the challenges of restoring a classic vehicle, dealing with dents from a waylaid moose, is probably not at the top of the list. However, for one repairer in Sweden, this became a reality when a moose crushed a classic BMW 850.
This moose-caused-misdemeanor specifically occurred last weekend when the antlered-offender accidentally broke into a BMW and Mini parts specialist Schmiedmann’s and in its confusion, kicked the Classic 8 series vehicle undergoing a full restoration.
According to online reports, Schmiedmann’s product photographer Morten Christensen originally told The Drive that “CEO Victor Ortegren was at his company over the weekend to put his private speedboat into winter storage when he heard some loud noises. He peeked around the corner of the speedboat, which was now inside the building, thinking a customer had come by. But just as he came around the boat, a huge moose jumped past him.”
The moose reportedly slammed its front legs on the hood of the freshly repainted vehicle.
Thankfully, the moose safely escaped the shop. The BMW 850, however, will not be seeing the outdoors again for a while.
