Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Axalta recently announced that the coatings giant has installed its 100th Axalta Irus Mix full automated hands-free paint mixing machine.
The unit was installed in Bodyshop Carenove in France earlier this month. The business has used Standox, one of Axalta’s automotive refinish brands, for more than 20 years.
“Axalta Irus Mix is a great step forward in modernization and an excellent investment for us,” said Lionel Tiberghein, deputy director general of SEPAMAP, the parent company of Bodyshop Carenove. “It is delivering not only cutting-edge innovation but also demonstrating improved efficiency. Axalta Irus Mix supports our commitment to helping reduce our environmental impact as it eliminates product waste and its proven bottle system is made from 50 percent recycled plastic.”
“Axalta Irus Mix truly is a revelation,” he added.
Axalta’s Irus Mix enables collision repair centres to deliver high-speed mixing of refinish paint systems for improved productivity. The machine is said to remove bottlenecks in collision centres as it frees up a painter’s time and boosts capacity—all while providing “highly accurate colour,” according to Axalta.
“Axalta Irus Mix was designed specifically to help our customers meet or exceed their business goals by maximizing productivity and minimizing environmental impact,” said Troy Weaver, president of Global Refinish at Axalta. “Installing our 100th machine further reinforces our commitment to helping our customers do business better through improved efficiencies and technology.”
Axalta Irus Mix recently received a 2024 Edison AwardTM for Innovation in the Environmental and Industrial Solutions category. Click here to learn more about the product.
