Penticton, British Columbia — A Speedy Glass location in Penticton, British Columbia has partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society for the month of October in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Penticton Speedy Glass, a windshield repair and replacement shop in B.C. will be donating two dollars from every pair of windshield wipers sold this month to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Drive Pink campaign. Drive Pink partners the organization with car dealerships and other auto service businesses across the country to show support for local women battling the disease in addition to overall awareness.
“At the Canadian Cancer Society, we know that cancer changes people and that one in eight Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime,” said Irina Novak-Calki, a development officer for the Canadian Cancer Society’s corporate programs. “Our Drive Pink partnership with Speedy Glass will help local women facing breast cancer live their lives more fully and see life beyond their diagnoses.”
“Breast cancer is an issue that affects many local people,” said Fernando Pierri, director of operations for Belron, Speedy Glass’ parent company. “It is for these reasons that we are committed to supporting breast cancer research, services, screening education and awareness work.”
