Ontario’s Honourees: Skills Ontario winners announced; Centennial College claims two collision repair medals and one car painting podium spot

Toronto, Ontario — Young collision repairers and automotive painters went head-to-head earlier this week to compete for the Skills Ontario title of best repairer or refinisher. 

Following two days of competition—secondary students on Monday, post-secondary Tuesday—the winners were announced Wednesday morning.

In the post-secondary collision repair category, first place went to Liam A. from Mohawk College. Silver went to Nazar G. from Centennial College and bronze was awarded to Ethan A. from Centennial College

For auto painting, secondary students, Alisha H. from Limestone District School Board took first-place; Sophia H. from Toronto District School Board claimed silver; and Joe Y. of Limestone District School Board won bronze. 

For post-secondary car painting, Mohawk College’s Colton L. claimed first; Hailey R. from Algonquin College took silver; and Christopher P. from Centennial College won bronze. 

The cars used at the Ontario competition have now been loaded onto trucks for their next competition—the Skills Canada National Competition in Quebec City on May 30 and 31.
