Toronto, Ontario – July 16, 2018 — Some Tesla owners explained that they might have to pay an additional $14,000 for their new Model 3 vehicles. According to the CBC, this occured after the Ontario government made the decision to cancel the incentive program for electric and hydrogen cars last week.
On Wednesday the provincial government announced the incentive program will end on Sept. 10. This will effect customers who purchased their electric or hydrogen fuelled cars from a dealer with their vehicle delivered, registered and plated. Those who ordered their vehicles directly from the manufacturer weren’t as fortunate, since their incentive was immediately terminated.
Tesla customers were hit hard by the news, as the American company operates without dealers and only sells directly to customers.
