Fredericton, New Brunswick — June 6, 2018 — Yesterday, Fredericton-based newspaper The Daily Gleaner ran a story featuring CARSTAR Fredericton general manager Steve Knox holding up a copy of the most recent edition of Collision Repair magazine.
“A Fredericton-based expert in auto body repair has been recognized for his hard work promoting safety and education within the business,” the story, which celebrated Knox’s cover story in the magazine, began.
While it might look like a piece on a resident’s appearance on a trade magazine cover as a sure sign of a slow news day, Knox is something of a local celebrity.
One of the directors – and an occasional performer – at the Fredricton Country Music Showcase, his good work in the collision repair community comes as as much of a surprise to Frederictonians as his cultural acheivements are to his colleagues on the CCIF steering committee.
For Gideon Scanlon, CRM’s new editor and the writer of the cover story on Steve Knox, the article is a reminder that the collision repair industry doesn’t exist outside of the broader community.
“The Daily Gleaner was happy to cover Steve for the same reason we were. He is a fantastic community-builder.” says Scanlon. “Whether it be his work with the Fredericton musical scene, or in the collision repair community.”
