Get ready to rev your (golf cart) engines. Registrations are now open for the 16th annual Calgary Regional Appraisers Souther Hospitality Invitational Tournament (CRASH IT).
This year’s gold tournament will be held at the Hamptons Golf & Country club on July 18, with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast, and a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start to the golf. The banquet begins at 2 p.m. The cost for participants – which does include a golf cart – is $175. Dinner-only tickets are also available for just $45 – not a bad price for steak with all the fixings.
The event began as a networking opportunity for auto insurers and appraisers, but now brings members of all areas of the automotive aftermarket on the greens. More than 130 people are expected to tee off this year.
While CRASH IT chair Emile Fremont, Color Compass’s director of business development, has been meticulously preparing for the event for months, he still has one major decision to make.
“We haven’t yet decided where to donate the proceeds,” Fremont says. “In the past, we have raised money for cancer victims and their families, and victims of natural disasters. We always try and make it a local cause.”
Fremont, who has now chaired the event for as many years as there are strokes on his handicap – 7 – first became involved because of his love of golf and of his community.
“It is a lot of fun. We would not be able to do any of it without the support of our wonderful sponsors.”
