Montreal, Quebec — May 23, 2018 — Distracted driving has become increasingly problematic on Canadian roads over the past few years and it is now one of the leading causes of collisions across the country. For this reason, motorsports star Patrick Carpentier has joined with BASF and CARSTAR to host driver education events in Quebec this month.
“This program is intended to raise awareness and inform young people that distracted driving is a dangerous thing and that it is important to focus on driving when in a vehicle. As use of cellphones grows, we’re going to be faced with the problem of distracted driving more and more. While laws are getting stricter we need to educate people as well,” says Carpentier, also noting the increasing cases of addictions to phones worldwide.
Three of the events are being hosted today. The first is at CARSTAR Charlesbourg, located at 545 Rue Platine in Quebec City. It begins at 10:00 AM.
The next event, held from noon until 2:00 PM is being offered at the École des métiers de l’équipement motorise, which can be found at 5455 rue Saint-Denis in Montreal.
The final event for the day will take place at CARSTAR St. Leonard, located at 6585 Rue Magloire in St. Leonard. This event will run from 3:00 until 4:00 PM.
