New York, New York — February 27, 2018 — After a recent announcement from Toyota and Hyundai, the companies has recalled 110,000 vehicles.
The vehicles are mainly trucks and SUVs, including the 2018 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia and the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport. For Hyundai, the recall was initiated by the realization that the steering wheel could break away from the steering column in some Santa Fe models. Toyota issued its recall in regards to the electronic stability control systems. It was found that in some cases, the system can shut down unexpectedly.
The two companies have reported they will begin contacting the affected vehicle owners in March and will perform the repairs without charge.
