Toronto, Ontario — The coatings division at BASF is due for a bit of a shake-up this coming August, as the auto paint manufacturer appointed three individuals to head up the new global units for its automotive coatings and refinish businesses.
Effective August 1, Patrick Zheng Yu Zhao will be tasked with overseeing BASF’s Global Automotive OEM Coatings Solutions business unit in Hong Kong, having most recently served as senior v-p for the company’s Asia Pacific coatings market.
Chris Titmarsh will take office in Münster, Germany, where he will be responsible for the Global Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions business unit, building on his recent work as senior v-p of BASF’s Europe, Middle East and Africa refinish market.
Finally, Frank Naber will work out of Frankfurt, Germany as the head of the Global Surface Treatment business unit, which operates under the Chemetall brand. Prior to this role, Naber was senior v-p of Automotive OEM Coatings Solutions for the Europe, Middle East and Africa market.
The company said in its Tuesday press release, “With the new organizational setup, BASF better serves its global customers who increasingly ask for global support and services.”
