Toronto, Ontario — August 8, 2017 — The Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS) premiered its third and final MIG/MAG welding information video.
According to the SCRS, the goals of their videos, available for free and on YouTube, are to support and encourage exemplary business, provide the leadership and visibility needed to develop the image of professionalism in the collision repair industry. The company encourages those in the industry to make use of this free information, and to share it with others in the industry.
Just under 12 minutes long, MIG Welding part three, titled, “Protective Equipment, ” develops outlines of what people should consider when selecting protective equipment to use when welding.
The video outlines MIG welders, important things to consider when purchasing a MIG welder, and processes to follow when using one. “It’s not your technicians’ responsibility to ensure that they have the proper safety equipment,” noted Michael Bradshaw, K&M Collision.
With that in mind, the instructions dive into what shop owners can do to ensure their technicians are working as safely as possible, which can largely be achieved through providing good, safe equipment. The instructors share with viewers what high-quality equipment looks like, what characteristics you should look for, in, say, a welding helmet or gloves.
