Saskatoon, Saskatchewan — Dave Savoie of Saskatoon’s Kavia Auto Body died suddenly on March 7, at the age of 40.
Savoie spent his career in the automotive industry, spending time as a technician, a manager and a partner. He obtained a Red Seal journeyman technician certificate and a business administration certificate, according to his obituary.
“He was proud of where he worked and the team he worked with,” it reads. “He loved his career and work family.”
“Dave was a terrific young man that is gone much too soon,” wrote director of the Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers, Tom Bissonnette, in an email to members.
Many remember Savoie as the “friend you could always count on.”
“He was loyal, kind, genuine, honest and loved to joke with people. He was amazing at connecting with people and building strong relationships, and he genuinely cared about those he met.”
A celebration of life for Savoie was held last Friday.
