Laval, Quebec — June 6, 2017 — The Carrossier ProColor network, a member of CSN COLLISION CENTRES, is renewing its partnership with the directors of the Traversée internationale du lac Saint-Jean, lac à Jim, lac Mégantic, the open water provincial championships and the Quebec Swimming Federation. Together they will be presenting the third edition of the Coupe Espoir Canada Carrossier ProColor, a massive open water swimming race. The races will take place from July 3rd to August 11th, 2017.

“We are delighted to reiterate our support for the development of our national open water succession.” said Sylvain Dufault, General Manager of the Carrossier ProColor network, sponsor of this circuit. Since the summer of 2015, the Coupe Espoir Canada Carrossier ProColor has offered young swimmers aged 14 to 19 years old the opportunity to achieve long distance races with conditions similar to those of the International Swimming Federation (FINA).

This year, the Coupe Espoir Canada Carrossier ProColor, which includes four open water swimming events, will start with the 5 km race at the open water provincial championships in Shawinigan on July 3rd. After that is a 5 km race at the provincial invitation in lac à Jim on July 15, then the 25th Marathon de la Relève Rio Tinto which is a 10 km race in lac Saint-Jean on July 28. The final even is a 7 km race in lac Mégantic on August 11th.

At the end of each event, points will be distributed according to the ranking of the swimmers who have finished within the regulatory time. Athletes must have completed 3 out of 4 events to be eligible to receive a scholarship. At the end of the season, the first 6 swimmers (both men and women) with the most points will share $6,400 in prizes, including $5,000 donated by Carrossier ProColor. The best male and female swimmers will receive their scholarship and trophy at the Quebec Federation of Swimming (FNQ) gala on September 23, 2017.
