BASF-painted cars take multiple awards

Ringbrothers’ 1969 Chevy Camaro, painted with BASF's Glasurit 90 Line “Blue Print." The car won the Chevrolet Design Award and was a Top Ten Finalist of Battle of the Builders.

Mississauga, Ontario — November 28, 2016 — BASF has announced that vehicles painted with its Glasurit and R-M lines received multiple awards and industry recognition at the 2016 SEMA Show.

“These builders possess an incredible amount of talent, and BASF believes craftsmanship and quality products go hand in hand,” said Dan Bihlmeyer, BASF North American Refinish Marketing & New Business Development Manager. “It’s an honour to have our paint chosen for these vehicles and to receive recognition for the creativity and innovation behind the coatings.”

BASF painted vehicles received the following recognition:

· Chevrolet Design Award — given to the Ringbrothers 1969 Chevy Camaro painted in Glasurit 90 Line “Blue Print,” for unique and innovative design. You can see this car at the top of this page.

· Ford Motor Company Design Award — awarded to Full-Race Motorsports Ford Focus RS, painted in R-M Diamont “Individual Fire Orange” and “Stealth Gray,” for making a significant contribution to vehicle design in a unique way compared to the competition.

· Battle of the Builders Finalists — “Double Bubble,” a 1961 Chevy Impala by Greening Auto Company and coated in Glasurit 90 Line was named runner-up in Battle of the Builders. Two vehicles by Ringbrothers, the 1969 Chevy Camaro shown above and a 1948 Cadillac, both coated in Glasurit 90 Line, were also included in the Top 10 Finalists for this award showcasing the best overall builds at the show.

· Mothers Shine Award Finalists — Troy Trepanier’s 1960 Cadillac “Copper Caddy” painted in Glasurit 90 Line. This award recognizes the best-of-the-best of the cars shown at SEMA.
