Toronto, Ontario – September 6, 2018 — Discount Car and Truck Rentals recently held its 28th annual charity golf tournament at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario.
This year’s tournament attracted various members throughout the collision repair industry including insurance agents, corporate partners and auto manufacturer professionals. Attendees raised money towards the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund.
Chase lost his life in 2006 after collapsing at school due to cardiac arrest. The fund in his memorial supports the goal of providing schools and hockey arenas across the country with automated external defibrillators.
Heading into their 12th year working with the memorial fund, Discount Car has been able to raise enough funds to place nearly 40 automatic external defibrillators in schools across Canada, adding to the 14,000 the foundation has been able to provide in the past 12 years.
“The Chase McEachern Tribute Fund is something that is very close to our hearts and to see all of our sponsors and industry partners out in full force to support us once again is just so overwhelming,” said Adam Ceifets, Discount director of national insurance sales.
“I see it over and over at events, this is an industry that gives and gives and I think we’ve all seen firsthand the results of that today. It’s a wonderful cause. Anytime we can play a small part in something that could potentially help save a life one day, you don’t even have to think about it. You just do it. We’re incredibly proud to support the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund and we’re looking forward to doing so for years to come.”
Approximately $70,000 has been raised by the tournament since 2006.
