Regulate service means energy savings.
Do you have a heated paint booth? What about a heated prep area? As we find ourselves deep within the grip of another long winter season in Canada it is important to make sure that your refinishing equipment is in optimal working condition. Please note my use of the word optimal. Loss of efficiency is a slippery slope, one where small problems may not be noticed until they have snowballed into big problems. By scheduling regular service of the burner system, you will help to make sure that problems with the burner system are solved before they lead to serious reductions in cycle time. Significant savings Servicing and re-commissioning your burner system may seem like a cost, but it isn’t really. Not only can a small cash outlay now mean much less money spent on repairs later, it can also lead directly to significant savings. By making sure that the burner system receives adequate professional service at least once a year great savings in energy costs can be realized. It is possible to save money by having your burner system serviced, but I cannot stress enough that great care must be taken with this process. Certified gas technicians are the only people qualified to service these systems safely. In addition to the safety issue, a certified gas technician is the one for the job because he or she has the training needed to be considered an expert on all sorts of gas powered heating systems. This expertise allows the technician to “fine tune” your system, leading to much greater overall efficiency. This fine tuning process can help you to save money on energy costs in four different ways. First, a properly serviced burner will provide a quicker heat rise. This decreases bake cycles, always a good thing in an industry where time is of the essence. It also uses less energy, saving you money on fuel costs. Second, a burner that is serviced regularly will offer greater temperature control. Because it is more precise, the system will again be using less energy and saving you money on overall fuel costs. Overall efficiency Third, you will realize savings because of overall greater fuel efficiency. This is separate and distinct from items one and two, as it relates to the entire system, rather than just one aspect. A properly serviced burner system uses less fuel to do what it needs to than a system that hasn’t been serviced since the day it was installed in your facility. Fourth, regular service decreases the likelihood of a burner malfunction or breakdown. No one wants lost production time, and having your burner fine tuned can help to
