London, Ontario -- January 7, 2013 -- CarProof Vehicle History Reports is pleased to welcome Jamie Blundell to the management team as the Senior Vice-President of Business Development. In his new role at CarProof, Blundell will be responsible for all business development activities including the company's entrance into new verticals and customer segments.

As the former Vice-President of Operations at Trader Corporation, Blundell brings with him over 20 years of experience in operations, business development and sales. During his time with Trader Corporation, Blundell was credited with creating a national dealer services, client services and creative services group using industry leading technology. He was involved in the acquisition and merger of two distinct organizations to create one national company and he expanded strategic media partnerships to improve the online value propositions. Blundell has also held senior positions with Yellow Pages Group and Quebecor World. His strong industry connections and wealth of knowledge will be an asset to CarProof as the company expands its offerings and reach in 2013.

BASF names Paul Whittleston VP for Automotive Refinish & Industrial Coatings PDF Print E-mail

Southfield, Michigan -- December 6, 2012 -- BASF announced that it has named Paul Whittleston as Vice President for Automotive Refinish Coatings in North America, effective January 1, 2013. In his new role, Whittleston will be based in Southfield, Mich. 

Prior to this appointment, Whittleston served BASF as Staff to the President of Market and Business Development, North America. His career started in 1993 with Ciba Specialty Chemicals in the United Kingdom. He has also worked for Ciba’s Water & Paper Treatment Segment in Asia and Ciba’s Specialty Chemicals business in Tarrytown, New York as Global Head of Marketing and New Business Development for the Process & Lubricant Additives business. Following the integration of Ciba into BASF in 2009, he served as Business Manager for BASF’s Fuels & Refinery Chemicals in North America.

“Whittleston brings a wealth of experience to the position, including key roles in laboratory, commercial, business leadership and global marketing positions,” said Juan Carlos Ordonez, Senior Vice President Coatings Solutions, North America. “We look forward to leveraging this expertise in the area of automotive refinish coatings.”

Whittleston holds an MBA from the University of Bradford, Yorkshire, United Kingdom; an MSc in Environmental Analytical Science from Sheffield Hallam University, Yorkshire, United Kingdom; and a BSc in Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry from the University of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Ottawa, Ontario -- November 26, 2012 -- The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada is pleased to announce that its President, Marc Brazeau, has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association.

"The Board could not be more pleased to announce this change to Mr. Brazeau's title" said John MacDonald, Chairman of the Board, AIA Canada. "Marc has been a strong leader, with his National office team by his side, for our over 900 members coast-to-coast. He has been a competent member of the Association for 16 years now, and his new role as CEO will better allow him to steer the direction of AIA moving forward and communicate the needs of our many industry partners as one voice."

Marc Brazeau started with AIA as Vice President in 1997 and became President in 2008. As President, he has worked tirelessly to reach members across the country to strengthen AIA's role as a national trade association. He has also made strides in advancing the aftermarket industry's relationship with the federal government and continues to push for stronger partnerships with each of the provincial and territorial governments in Canada.

Brazeau's change in title was officially be announced to the association's membership Friday evening at AIA's 70th anniversary gala at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, Ont.
