Wednesday, 01 October 2008 04:21

SASSENHEIM, THE NETHERLANDS -- October 1, 2008 -- AkzoNobel has signed a global contract with Volvo Car Corporation to supply their dealer network with its Sikkens key products. This makes AkzoNobel Sikkens one of the preferred suppliers listed in Volvo’s new VIDA (Volvo Information & Diagnostics for Aftersales) system. This worldwide web based system provides Volvo dealers with information about recommended and approved products and repair procedures.

In Volvo’s VIDA, Sikkens paint products and systems for use in Europe, North America and Asia can be found. The new contract confirms the strong partnership between Volvo and AkzoNobel Sikkens.

“It took a significant amount of hard work to carry out all the tests and get Volvo’s approval to have Sikkens products and paint systems listed in PIA, the Paint Information for Aftersales section of the web system,” Stefan Wieditz, AkzoNobel Car Refinishes’ Global Technical Manager OEM Aftermarket explained.

Based in Troy, Michigan, USA, Wieditz continues: “Now we can provide Volvo’s network of global dealers with everything they need to meet car drivers’ expectations and repair shop requirements.”

Rogier Sassen, from AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Global Product Management, was involved to ensure the right Sikkens product info was placed in the VIDA system. “We are delighted that our high performance clearcoats like Sikkens Autoclear LV Superior and Sikkens Autoclear UV have been included, as well as our unique waterborne basecoat Sikkens Autowave,” he adds. “The Sikkens products Volvo selected represent our latest technology.”

Akzo Nobel Forges Exclusive Agreement with NuGen IT
Thursday, 25 September 2008 03:24
NORCROSS, GA -- September 25, 2008 -- Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes Americas has announced the formation of an exclusive e-commerce business agreement with NuGen IT.  This agreement is a first of its kind and enables collision repair centres that are part of the Sikkens Acoat selected Verified Repair Network (ASVRN) to be uniquely identified to the insurance companies that are making out-of-network repair assignments.

The technology that makes this assignment capability possible is done through the NuGen IT web-based software application, “Non-Network Portal Plus” or NNP+.  NuGen IT has partnered with AkzoNobel to provide direct access to the collision repair businesses that are part of the ASVRN network.

“Shops want business, consumers want seamless service, and insurance companies want the most reliable repair options for their policy holders no matter where those policy holders reside,” noted Tim Loden, Director of Marketing for Akz oNobel Car Refinishes Americas. Loden continues, “NuGen IT has developed a sustainable solution that gives insurance companies an efficient way to exchange claims data with non-DRP shops.”

In commenting on the recent agreement, Pete Tagliapietra, President of NuGen IT, noted, “The products offered by AkzoNobel and the businesses participating in the ASVRN network represent the cream of the crop found in the collision repair industry today.  We feel confident that insurers choosing our NNP+ tool are getting the best for their policy holders when ASVRN locations are selected.”
